About the Author of the Site
Hi, I’m Émilie Laurent, founder and author of groupegarden (https://www.groupegarden.com). I’m a passionate gardener, plant enthusiast and home-garden stylist who loves turning outdoor spaces into welcoming, productive and beautiful places. I write practical how-tos, seasonal planting guides, eco-friendly care tips, design ideas and troubleshooting advice to help gardeners of all levels grow healthier plants and enjoy more blooms throughout the year.
I grew up with a small kitchen garden and a backyard full of roses and fruit trees, and over the years I’ve expanded that childhood curiosity into a lifelong practice. I trained in horticulture and landscape basics, and I’ve worked on community garden projects, small urban landscaping jobs and dozens of DIY garden makeovers. These hands-on experiences taught me what really works in different soils, climates and garden sizes.
My approach is practical, seasonal and sustainable. I believe good gardening adapts to the local climate and uses simple, eco-friendly methods: composting, water-wise planting, pollinator-friendly choices and low-chemical pest management. On Groupegarden I focus on clear, step-by-step guides, realistic planting calendars and design ideas that are both beautiful and achievable, whether you have a balcony, a small yard or a larger plot.
I enjoy solving common garden problems—poor blooms, pest outbreaks, soggy soil or confusing planting schedules—and I like breaking solutions down into easy actions you can take this weekend. I also love sharing creative DIY projects that refresh outdoor rooms on a budget: planters, trellises, seating areas and seasonal displays that make a garden feel personal and inviting.
When I’m not writing or digging in the soil, I’m experimenting with native plants, testing companion planting ideas, or photographing seasonal changes for the site. My favorite plants change with the seasons, but I always have lavender for scent, native perennials for pollinators and a few heritage tomatoes for summer salads.
I’m committed to helping gardeners build resilient, joyful outdoor spaces. If you have questions, topic suggestions or want help troubleshooting a problem, I’d love to hear from you—visit https://www.groupegarden.com to explore the guides, or reach out through the contact options on the site. Let’s grow something beautiful together.
